Senior Refund Program Returns for 2019

Since 1977, the Littleton City Council has annually renewed its Senior Refund Program, providing the city’s senior residents with a refund. The program is available to both renters and property owners. For property owners, the refund is based on the property’s assessed valuation. Refund amounts range from $10 to $100. Refunds for renters range from $10 to $30. The city council recently changed the definition of property “owner” for calculating the refund amount. If the property title was transferred to a trust or other legal entity for estate planning purposes, it may now be eligible for a property tax refund based on the property’s assessed
valuation. Applicants must have been 65 years of age or older on or
before December 31, 2018 and resided within the city limits of Littleton for the entire year of 2018. Applicants must complete both sides of the form and attach their paid property tax receipt and a copy of their driver’s license or identification card. The form can be downloaded from the website, with the required documentation attached and mailed to: City of Littleton Finance Office, 2255 West Berry Avenue, Littleton, CO 80120. Forms will be mailed in March to those who received a refund for the prior year. Newly eligible residents can pick up forms from the finance office the end of March. The deadline for filing is October 31, 2019.
